St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish

Parish Ministries

Our St. Rose ministries are organized into commissions and sub-committees that provide Advisory and Consultative support to the Pastor, Parish Staff, other Parishioners and Operational support for the Physical Facilities of the parish. Members are generally but not exclusively adults. Appointments for commissions are normally for 3 years, whereas for the operational committees (e.g. maintenance, festival, computer, …) it varies and is based upon function and need. The commissions normally meet ten times a year, usually on the third Thursday of the month. Operational committees meet as needed.

Administration Commission

The Administration Commission is the steward of parish resources. It is comprised of a representative from each of its current sub-committees: Communication, Finance, Landscaping, Sponsorship, Temporal Affairs, and Catholic Appeal.

Faith Formation Commission
The Faith Formation Commission deals with matters concerning all levels of religious educational programming in the parish, children through adults. The Commission's role is to foster cooperation, coordination and communication among all groups and individuals involved in the faith formation ministries of the parish and to encourage a parish wide involvement.

Parish Life Commission
The role of the Parish Life Commission is to promote family life, help build the parish community and to help foster a sense of belonging among parishioners. It organizes and carries out activities such as Coffee & Doughnuts, the Parish Festival and the Auction Dinner. It coordinates various parish communal organizations such as:
· The Knights of Columbus - a Catholic Men's organization whose primary purpose is to assist the parish by doing capital improvements, general maintenance, and assisting with the raising of funds for various Catholic or community groups. Members meet on the first Wednesday of every month.
· Youth Ministry - conducts activities to foster the maturing of faith in the youth of our parish and the surrounding community.

School Commission
The School Commission reviews and provides counsel regarding curricular and operational matters of the parish school. Members are adults who have a strong interest and commitment to catholic education. The Pastor appoints the commission members and they conduct formal meetings, generally once a month.

Social Concerns & Outreach Commission
The St. Rose Social Concerns and Outreach Commission addresses many and varied needs throughout our parish and community. These needs include, but are not limited to providing Care Teams (help to provide assistance to those experiencing health challenges), communion to those not able to attend mass, funeral meals, Pro-Life concerns, college mass dinners and the "Giving Tree" during Advent.

Spiritual Life Commission
The primary responsibility of the Spiritual Life Commission is to help provide quality liturgical experiences. This commission assists in the development of opportunities for spiritual growth for parishioners. It also coordinates the work of the liturgical ministries such as Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Choir, Greeters, Ushers and Servers.
